Store Clerk Charged With Shooting at 3 Teens Extradited to South Florida

A Fort Lauderdale food mart clerk accused of shooting at three people inside the store lat month has been extradited to South Florida after being arrested in Cleveland.

Omar Ayyash, 26, arrived Friday at Broward County Jail where he is being held without bond.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Ayyash saw brothers Drakaar and Zkhan Allen walk into the store at Northwest 13th Court and Northwest 27th Avenue with a 17-year-old girl on Sept. 25. While the brothers were in the store, Ayyash became upset with the group and a fight escalated quickly.

Investigators said Ayyash fired several shots at the trio as they ran away from the store. Ayyash, an ex-convict, fled the store after the shooting, the BSO said. The victims suffered minor injuries, but Allen's mother said he still has a bullet lodged in his foot.

Ayyash is charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder and probation violation. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

The store clerk is well-known to law enforcement. He was arrested just two weeks before the shooting for violating his probation. He’s been arrested in the past year on charges of battery, resisting an officer with violence and drugs.
