Streaky Hurricanes Top Cavaliers

The Hurricanes won their second game in a row on Saturday over the Cavaliers

The Miami Hurricanes beat the Virginia Cavaliers 34-14 for their second consecutive win on Saturday.

Miami has had a streaky season thus far with four wins straight to begin the year followed by four losses. The Hurricanes are now on the way to their third streak of the season with this victory and two games remaining.

The game was close at the half with UM only up by a field goal. The Hurricanes opened things up in the second half and outscored the Cavaliers by 17. This was all part of a 20-0 run that began before the half.

On the season, Miami now has a 6-4 record overall and a 3-3 mark in the conference. The season started with cautious optimism which quickly changed to surprise elation. The Hurricanes found themselves highly ranked with a 4-0 record until a loss to Florida State reversed their fortunes.

Bad Kaaya threw two touchdown passes in the win and was also picked off one time. Kaaya now has 19 touchdowns on the year go go along with seven interceptions. Both of those numbers already eclipse Kaaya's totals during the 2015 season.

Mark Walton led the team in rushing yards with 111 and went into the end zone with Miami's final touchdown of the game. Joseph Yearby added 53 yards of his own on the ground with a TD.

Miami's season will continue to wind down next Saturday when it visits NC State at 12:30 p.m.
