Suspect Caught on Camera Burglarizing Northwest Miami-Dade Home

Repair crews cleared the busted out glass at a northwest Miami-Dade home, making way for a new door. Shattered shards are what Ana Castellano walked into 4 p.m. Tuesday.

"We were like 'Oh my God, what happened?' So we immediately left," Castellano said. "We were scared because we weren't sure if someone was still in here."

The suspect had already fled, but not before stealing from the family. He clearly didn't notice the security cameras, which captured the bold suspect with gloves on to hide prints.

"He took the safe box with cash, jewelry, personal documents like passport, birth certificate," Franklin Castellano said.

$20,000 in cash, even more in jewelry, was swiped from Franklin Castellano, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The scary thing for the family is they believe the thief was watching them.

"Usually someone's here at that time. Usually somebody's here and probably saw there were no cars in the parking," Castellano said.

The video shows the suspect was in no hurry. He went room to room, going through all the drawers and closets, but leaving the computers which can be tracked. It appeared it was the quick cash he was after.

The house is alarmed, but didn't go off, as the alarm contacts are on the frame, not the glass, which was reduced to clear gravel.

The crook also left behind ransacked rooms and numerous crystal clear images of his shiny mug.

"I know that it's hard to recover everything but I just hope the police catch this guy and put him in jail," Castellano said.

If you have any information about this case or the suspect, you're urged to call police.
