Suspect Sought in Armed Hialeah Home Invasion

Hialeah Police are looking for a suspect after an armed home invasion early Monday morning.

The home invasion happened in the 700 block of E. 45th Street, Hialeah Police said.

Victim Hermania Jimenez said she and husband Joquin Valdez Gonzalez had their mouths and hands taped by a man wearing a ski mask and all-black clothes. She said the suspect also hit her husband on the head before taking cash the couple keeps from a small business.

She said this was the second time her home had been the target of a home invasion.

Neighbors said Jimenez was inconsolable after the home invasion.

"She was freaked out, she didn't know what to say at that moment," neighbor Ivy Morejon said.

Police said the suspect was last seen running westbound. They are looking for a 5'7" man between 30 and 40 years old.

The details of the home invasion weren't immediately known.
