    The Broward Sheriff’s Office says it’s seeking the suspect and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a Pompano Beach woman is in critical condition.

    Stacy Peppers, 41, was crossing the 800 block of SE 6th Avenue in Deerfield Beach when a vehicle struck her Thursday night at about 9:38 p.m., the BSO said in a statement.

    The driver sped away heading south on SE 6th Avenue and then turned west on 10th Street toward I-95, the BSO said.

    Peppers and her husband visited his mother in the Monaco Gardens Condominiums before the crash. She remains in critical condition at Broward Health North, the BSO said.

    Detectives said they believe the suspect vehicle was a dark, mid-‘90s to 2005 model with a hatchback. It possibly sustained damage on the passenger side, including the headlight, bumper and front and the top of the hood, they said.
