Suspect in Battery of Young Girl Sought By Pembroke Pines Police

Pembroke Pines Police are looking for a man who forced his way into an apartment and battered a young girl.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon around 1:30 in the 8800 block of Southwest 3rd Street, police said.

The juvenile victim had exited her apartment to empty the trash when she saw the suspect park in front of her apartment. He followed behind her and forced his way into her apartment, where he held her against her will and battered her, police said.

Police said the suspect was scared off when the victim's cousin arrived home. The victim wasn't seriously injured.

The suspect is described as an 18-year-old black male, about 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds, with a thin beard, long braided hair and a tattoo of "MARC" on his right upper arm. He was driving a cream-colored Chevy Malibu or Impala with dark tinted windows and a Florida specialty license plate.
