Police Search For Dangerous Suspect From Officer-Involved Shooting

Authorities on Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding a suspect considered to be dangerous who had fled an officer-involved shooting. Suspect Joan Silva, 38, from Miami, was identified by Miami-Dade Police and charges against him were pending. He remains at large and is considered dangerous. The son of the 77-year-old accident victim, Ezekiel Pino, said his father was an innocent driver.

Authorities have arrested the man believed to have shot a 26-year-old during a dispute in Pompano Beach Saturday.

Scott Cherry, 19, was arrested Sunday in Lake Park after officials released a photo of him to the public. Cherry will be charged with attempted murder, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Officials said Cherry shot and injured Trentny Leak, who is in serious condition at North Broward Medical Center.

The BSO said Cherry was out on bond for an August home invasion robbery in Riviera Beach when he shot Leak.

Cherry reportedly shot Leak following a dispute between family and friends at the 200 block of SW 8th Street in Pompano Beach Saturday afternoon. He then boarded a Tri-Rail train and headed north where he was later found, the agency said.
