A suspect who fatally shot another man in Hallandale Beach overnight remains on the run Saturday morning, police said.

During a get-together at a home at 704 NE 8th Street, an argument erupted between the two men, and the suspect opened fire, police said. He fired four to five shots, witnesses said, and the victim died on the scene while the suspect ran away, according to Hallandale Beach Police.

Neither man has been identified.

A perimeter was set up, but police later cleared the area.

The victim’s cousin, Ernie Mendoza, said, “My cousin was visiting his friend, and one of the guys who was drinking, he just shot him, because they (were) fighting.”
