Sariles and Iacono fled the scene in a getaway car but crashed a short distance from the 7-Eleven on the 1800 block of NE 154th Street in the Washington Park neighborhood. Only one suspect sustained injuries from the car accident, according to police.

The suspects fled the crash on foot and were able to find shelter in the storage shed of a local resident. But authorities were able to apprehend both Sariles and Iacono after a thorough search of the areas near the robbery scene using K-9 dogs, officials said.

Both suspects were bitten by the dogs as they were apprehended.

They will face charges including armed robbery, attempted murder, leaving the scene of a traffic crash with injuries, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.
