Suspects Robbed Man Born With No Arms: Authorities

Oliver Bozeman and Courtney Edge allegedly took $300 from Havalah Pitts, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported

Two Pompano Beach men robbed a man who was born with no arms, authorities said.

Oliver Bozeman and Courtney Edge, both 25, allegedly took $300 from Havalah Pitts on the 500 block of South Federal Highway on Oct. 4, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

They were arrested on Tuesday, authorities said. Bozeman and Edge, who face charges of robbery and abuse to an elderly or disabled adult without great harm, were both ordered held on $55,000 bond Wednesday, though Bozeman was ultimately held without bond because of a previous pending case, the Sun Sentinel reported.

"These two men picked a defenseless victim, a man with no arms, and stole the money from his pockets," Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Dani Moschella told the newspaper. "It was a vile act, a new low for criminals."

Pitts was described in a report as a “disabled person who was born with no arms and hand no way to defend himself or protect his property,” the Sun Sentinel said.

Bozeman and Edge are both being held in the Broward County Main Jail, online jail records showed. It wasn’t immediately known whether they have attorneys.
