Swimming Advisory Issued for Southern Part of Miami Beach

A swimming advisory was issued Thursday for the southern portion of Miami Beach after a high level of bacteria was found in water in the area.

The Florida Department of Health issued the advisory for the area near 1st Street in the most southern portion of Miami Beach after two samples exceeded the recommended standard for enterococci.

The advisory recommends not swimming in the area because contact with the water may pose an increased risk of illness.
