Teen Charged as Adult in Transgender Woman's Murder in Miami-Dade

A 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting a transgender woman in Miami-Dade last month is being charged as an adult.

William Watson appeared in court Tuesday as he was formally charged with second-degree murder in the July 31 killing of 21-year-old Kiki Fantroy.

Fantroy was returning home from a party with a group of people and was propositioned for sex, according to Fantroy's mother.

Miami-Dade Police say Fantroy rejected the offer from the teen before the juvenile began shooting at another member of the group. The teen allegedly chased down Fantroy before opening fire and shooting Fantroy to death.

Watson was ordered held without bond in the case. Attorney information wasn't available.
