A tractor struck a teenager sleeping on a north Florida beach Friday morning.
Panama City Beach Police say 18-year-old Colin Shain of Orlando was sleeping on the sand in a silver emergency survival blanket around 9 a.m. when the beach tractor hit him.
The driver of the tractor said he thought the silver blanket was trash, and only saw Shain's leg come out from under the blanket after hitting him. Police said the tractor driver stopped before running completely over him.
The Panama City News Herald reports Shain was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the incident remains under investigation.
