Teen Hospitalized After Drive-by Shooting Sends Bullets Into Fort Lauderdale Home

Fort Lauderdale Police are investigating an overnight drive-by shooting that reportedly sent one teenager to the hospital after a bullet entered her home.

Family members say the 15-year-old was sleeping in her mother’s bed just after midnight Monday at the home near Northwest 16th Street and 24th Avenue when the shooting happened.

The teen, who reportedly was struck in the leg, was taken to an area hospital, where family members expect her to be okay.

Fort Lauderdale Police said several shots were fired from an unknown vehicle into the home. No other injuries were reported.

The shooting remains under investigation.
