Teen Missing Since December From Plantation Found in Daytona Beach

It’s been a story full of twists and turns over the last year. Now, a 17-year-old Plantation teen that had been missing and on the run since last December is finally in one place.

Aage Jorgenson, in a Daytona Beach courtroom, was ordered into the custody of a friend of his father from Oklahoma – where Aage lived with his father prior to moving to Broward County.

Aage’s story was one that got national attention. After he was kicked out of a vehicle by his father, 59-year-old Bruce Jorgenson, Aage never returned home. Bruce Jorgenson never reported the teen missing. He was later arrested in January 2016 on a charge of unlawful desertion of a child while trying to board a flight to New Zealand. Those charges were later dropped.

According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Aage Jorgenson was seen several times since going missing – in March at a Vero Beach hotel and in July when he was arrested at Daytona Beach College for breaking into a campus building.

Aage’s mother, Nestralda Mechaet Jorgensen, traveled from her home country of Palau to be with the son she hadn’t seen since he was a young child. He would go missing again inside a Denver airport in August when traveling back with her.

Once detained in November in Daytona Beach, Aage said he would cooperate with authorities but did not want to be turned over to either his mother or father, who is currently living out of the country.
