The suspect pulled out a gun and shot at the teen multiple times, hitting him twice in his lower extremities, police said. The victim was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect, who police described as a white male between 15-18 years old, fled in an unknown direction, police said.

"He did shoot multiple times and the dangers involved with that, you have residents that are sleeping here at this time, that are home, children that are home and these stray bullets are what may end up causing this to be a tragedy and the susbjects of course don't think of that," Miami-Dade Police Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said.

The shooting is still being investigated and anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
