Teens Accused of Trying to Kill Cop

Four teens charged with attempted murder appeared in court Wednesday

Four teens have been charged with attempted murder on a law enforcement officer after they allegedly shot at a police officer during an attempted getaway from a botched robbery.

Alquaves Harris, 16, and 15-year-olds Tavares McCray and Saivon Adams were in Broward court Wednesday to face multiple charges, including armed robbery, stemming from a July 28 incident.

Taray Brown, 18, has also been charged.

Harris was fingered by Miramar Police as the triggerman that shot at a police officer, prosecutors said.

According to an arrest report, the teenagers spotted a woman driving through Miami Gardens and followed her to her home in Broward.

Before the woman could get out of her car, Adams put a gun to her head and demanded she give up the gold bracelet she was wearing, police said.

The teens fled in a gray Nissan after Miramar Police arrived and eventually bailed out of the car to escape, the report stated.

That's when Harris turned around a fired several shots at officers, prosecutors alleged..

All four were eventually captured and arrested.

Although Harris was the only suspect to fire at cops, all of the suspects will be charged with attempted murder because of his actions, Broward Judge John Jay Hurley said.

They are being held on no bond. It's unclear if they have an attorney.
