It will cost you five bucks to see the graduation hat toss at FIU.

Usually, graduation marks the momentous occasion for parents when they stop paying for their child's education. Well not at Florida International University.

The fees keep coming, because now the Golden Panthers are charging an admission fee to watch the graduation ceremonies, starting this December.

Students get two tickets free, but extra guests (three tops) will have to fork over a Lincoln each. No word on the cost of VIP or velvet rope service.

Apparently, FIU is doing too good a job at graduating folks and the cost of the ceremonies has grown too big for its budget. University officials said the nominal cover charge will generate about $35,000 in additional revenue.

FIU tuition: $15,000

Admission for graduation: $5

Putting a downer on a memorable occasion: priceless
