As tragic as it may sound, it was only appropriate that Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight die together.
Because neither could live without the other, according to family members and church goers at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.
The 33-year-old twin sisters were celebrated Monday night at the church as parishioners remembered their strong bond and faith.
"They were born together and they died together," said church's pastor said.
Meanwhile authorities are still searching for the twins' brother, Paul Michael Merhige, who allegedly shot and killed them and two other family members on Thanksgiving night in Jupiter.
Paul Merhige, 35, has been on the run since Thursday and has a history of mental illness that may have contributed to the killing. But court records show that his animosity toward his sisters and family reaches back years, including a threat that he would slit the throat of one of his sisters.
Jim Sitton, Merhige's cousin-in-law, was at the home of the shootings along with 16 other relatives and said Tuesday the killer uttered chilling words before walking out of the house.

"He turned and started to walk away and said, 'I have been waiting 20 years to do this,'" Sitton said. Sitton also lost his 6-year-old daughter, Makayla, who was shot in the attack.
Merhige was believed to be driving a royal blue 2007 Toyota Camry with a rear spoiler and Florida license plate. Authorities said there had been "ongoing resentment" in the family, but investigators weren't sure what specifically prompted the shooting Thursday.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for his capture and Merhige is officially wanted on warrants for four counts of first-degree murder.
