Thief Takes Victim on a Wild Ride

Miami-Dade Police released a sketch Monday of a robber they say took his victim on a dangerous ride earlier this month.

According to police, the suspect approached a woman at a bust stop near the intersection of NE 112th Avenue and NE 2nd Avenue and started to talk to her. Police said when the woman didn’t show much interest in talking; the suspect acted as if he was going to walk away, but turned and grabbed her cell phone.

Police said the suspect then ran and got in a dark green Chevrolet Tahoe. The woman jumped onto the passenger side running board of the vehicle and held onto the door. The woman, according to police, pleaded for her cell phone to no avail and then pepper sprayed the suspect through the window.

Miami-Dade Police said the suspect then began driving erratically to try to get the woman off of his car. The suspect grabbed the woman’s purse off of her and then loosened her grip enough for her to fall off and roll onto the street.

The woman suffered a broken collarbone, sprained left foot, and severe abrasions.
