Thief Who Stole Rifles, Handgun From Car Arrested: Miami Police

Miami Police say they've arrested a man who stole two AR-15 rifles and a handgun during a burglary earlier this month.

Robert Patterson, 30, was charged with three counts of grand theft, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of armed burglary in the June 12 incident, police said.

Patterson remained behind bars Tuesday without bond, jail records showed. It was unknown if he's hired an attorney.

Police said the suspect made his way into the staircase of a high-rise condominium located at 1050 Brickell Avenue, where he broke into and stole from the inside of a 2016 Black Mercedes Benz E 400 that was parked on the seventh floor of the building's parking garage.

The high-rise's surveillance equipment captured the burglar's face on camera.

Records showed Patterson has been arrested for grand theft and burglary in the past.
