NBC 6's Christina Hernandez takes a look at a recent burglary that targeted a seafood market in Fort Lauderdale. (Published Tuesday, Jun 17, 2014)

Thousands of dollars were stolen in broad daylight and all of it was pulled away in a truck. It happened behind a business in Fort Lauderdale just over a week ago.

"It happens to be 30 years worth of memories my father had been building up," Jennifer Quinones said. "There was a significant amount of taxidermy in there, seafood related. There was irreplaceable sets of shark jaws."

Everything inside the trailer adds up to about $10,000. It all belongs to The Fish Peddler East - a seafood market on Commercial Boulevard.

"These items that my father collected means the world to him. This is his business," Quinones said. "That can never be replaced or recovered. You can't rebuy these items."

On the Sunday afternoon of June 8th, the market was closed. Around 1:15pm, a black Ford F-350 is captured on surveillance video driving behind the business. It appears to be a Super Duty King Ranch dually with chrome handles and rims, a sunroof, and has very dark tinted windows.

Thirty minutes after it was originally caught on camera, it returned. After being out of the camera’s shot for about three minutes, it pulls away with the 1996 white trailer in tow. The trailer is a Wells Cargo dual axel box trailer with a North Carolina license plate number AC10881.

Now, Quinones has changed the way business vehicles are parked behind the market and is making sure the surveillance camera that captured this crime continues to roll.

"I would just hope that there would be a Good Samaritan out there that would stand up for us hard working business owners ... that has put their hard work and blood, sweat, and tears and hopefully speak up," she said. "It doesn't belong to this person and they don't deserve to have this."

If you have any information about this crime, the truck involved, or the whereabouts of the stolen trailer or what was inside, call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
