Thieves Steal Tools, Birds From Miami Religious Store

Authorities are investigating after thieves broke into a Miami religious store stealing thousands of dollars worth of tools and pigeons.

A security camera was rolling Sunday around 5 p.m. recording those thieves' every move as they broke into Viejo Lazaro Botanica on West Flagler.

They backed up with their car and broke into a storage area wide out in the open then stuffed in the car and steal as much as they can, about $10,000 worth of goods, according to the owners.

The suspects got away with a lot of unique tools specifically needed to make religious artifacts that are hard to find.

Police are investigating but the store's owners believe whoever did it knew what they were doing. According the owners, 50 white expensive pigeons were also stolen with value that goes beyond the dollar.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
