Romantics looking to break out of the mold this Valentine’s Day, both literally and figuratively, should consider chocolates that really show how much they care.

That’s what you’ll find at Schakolad Chocolate Factory, located at 7740 Nova Drive in Davie, which specializes in thinking out of the box, literally and figuratively, as well.

"We’re a gourmet store; we make everything here on site. We are kosher, we have vegan chocolates as well, and we personalize almost everything we do," said co-owner Dafne Reich.

The shop sells a truffle-filled shoe for the sassy, well-heeled lady.  Wine lovers can enjoy a chocolate encrusted bottle. And customers can even make edible memories with photos.

"We have edible paper, so we’re able to take images that people send us and also put it on chocolate," Reich said.

The store has thousands of molds to suit your loved one’s interests. Some of its best sellers include chocolate pizza, candy-filled chocolate boxes and roses.

Sweet can be sexy too – think chocolate handcuffs and body paint.

Customer Jim Inklebarger says the customized sweets wowed his wife last year, so he's back.

"It gets me on the right side of the column; she likes it. It’s custom-made and handmade," he added.

Those who have grown tired of the same old cookie-cutter box of chocolates on Valentine’s Day, are encouraged to dump them and get creative.

"That is the difference between something that’s prepackaged and made months ahead in some box versus coming here and getting (it) made by the minute, fresh, (to) melt in your mouth," Reich said.

Now all you need is a date.
