Third Man Arrested For Fatal Shooting on Interstate 95 After Surrendering to Authorities: Deputies

Michael Depre, 25, was arrested on Monday for the death of Nicholas Romondo Walker on May 5, deputies said.

A third man was arrested after he surrendered to authorities for a fatal shooting on Interstate 95, Broward Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Michael Depre, 25, was arrested on Monday for the death of Nicholas Romondo Walker on May 5, deputies said.

Two other men, Scott Simon, 24, and Ronel Desinor, 27, have also been arrested in the case.

All three Pompano Beach men are charged with first-degree murder and are being held in jail without bond. It was not immediately known if they had attorneys.

Investigators had obtained warrants for Desinor and Depre for their involvement in the death, but their specific roles in the murder have not yet been released, the sheriff's office said. Simon is described as the mastermind in the murder, authorities said.

The arrests come after Simon pocket-dialed 9-1-1 while talking to someone about his murder plans, authorities said. He can be heard on the recorded line saying he was going to follow 33-year-old Walker home and kill him, deputies said.

Minutes after the call, Walker was shot and killed while driving onto the highway. He had previously gotten into an argument with Simon at a nearby Waffle House, authorities said.

When deputies arrived at the scene on May 5 at about 6:40 a.m., they found Walker's silver Buick crashed into a guard rail. Authorities had put out a fire in the engine, but Walker was already dead of gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said.
