Thousands of Toll Payers in Miami-Dade Getting Cash Back

For the second consecutive year, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority will give thousands of drivers a bonus check right before the holidays.

The MDX Board of Directors approved Tuesday a Cash Back Dividend that will pay $5.5 million to qualified toll users.

Nearly 60,000 drivers will get a check for about $100.

The chair of the board, Louis Martinez, said the checks will be mailed out by December.

The qualifying tolls for the Cash Back Program are those paid on SR 112/Airport Expressway, SR 836/Dolphin Expressway, SR 874/Don Shula Expressway, SR 878/Snapper Creek Expressway, and SR 924/Gratigny Parkway.

Martinez said more than 112,000 people registered for the cash back program, but less than half qualified.

Those who qualified spent a minimum of $100 in tolls from July 1, 2015 to June 30.

If you want to sign up for next year's refund, open enrollment begins in January, visit MDX on the web.
