A 1-year-old girl dies after she's left in a car outside the Holiness Born Again Church in Miramar on Sunday, October 3, 2010.
The death of a a 1-year-old girl who was left alone in a car for several hours in Miramar on Sunday has been ruled accidental.
Police say Kimberly James was found unresponsive in the parking lot outside the Holiness Born Again Church on the 6400 block of Pembroke Road. around 3:15 p.m.
James, 14-months old, had been apparently left in the car while her father, Odane James, attended services inside the church, police said. She may have been in the car for nearly three hours, police said.
The girl was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, where she was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner's Office ruled the little girl died from complications of hyperthermia.
It's still unclear how the little girl was left in the car, but Odane James has not been charged as Miramar police still investigate the death.
