Tot Eats Oxycontin-Tainted Skittles

Four-year-old Tampa girl gets sick after she tastes the rainbow

First it was cocaine in the Skittles, and now it's hillbilly heroin.

Less than a week after a Northwest Florida boy found cocaine in his Skittles, a four-year-old girl in Tampa was hospitalized after she ate a bag of the same candy laced with Oxycontin.

The girl was on her way home Monday from Tampa International airport with her grandparents when she became lethargic and had to be taken to a hospital.

When police examined her bag of Skittles, they discovered several of the Oxy pills mixed in, and saw that the bag had been resealed. As a precaution, officials pulled about 30 bags of the colorful candy off shelves.

Police said they're still trying to figure out if someone may have given the candy to the girl or if she picked it up from a  bench.

A spokesman for Wrigley, which makes Skittles, said the company is cooperating in the investigation.
