Police say driver tried to run over security outside King of Diamonds

A man who was shot when he tried to run over security outside a Miami strip club was hospitalized in critical condition after he was found in a car on Interstate 95 early Tuesday, police said.

The incident began around 4 a.m. with some sort of altercation at the King of Diamonds strip club at 17800 Ipco Road, Miami-Dade police officials said.

Police said the man got into his car and attempted to run over security guards and other patrons outside the club.

The man crashed into another car and either security or other club patrons opened fire on him, police said.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers later found the car on I-95 near Griffin Road, where two lanes were blocked because of the incident.
