Trapper Saves Alligator Being Attacked by Python in Everglades Near Homestead

An alligator in the Everglades is lucky to be alive – thanks to the quick thinking of a group of men that saw it being attacked by a python this weekend.

Jack Hubbard, who lives in Lakeland, posted the video to Facebook showing him and a friend, professional trapper Mike Kimmel, in the area near Homestead this weekend when they noticed something was wrong.

Hubbard told NBC affiliate WFLA-TV that Kimmel soon realized what was going on, jumping out of their car and grabbing the snake. The animal loosened its grip long enough to allow the reptile to escape back to his home in the waters.

The duo posted several other photos and videos of pythons that were captured, including an eight foot reptile later in the weekend.
