Tri-Rail Announces Extra Train Service For Ultra Music Festival Weekend

Uber also making it easier to use service during music festival

Residents in Broward and Palm Beach counties who plan on attending this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival now have a way to get to Downtown Miami without having to spend money on gas or find parking.

Tri-Rail, the commuter train system that runs between the three South Florida counties, will provide extra services starting Friday for those traveling to the outdoor concerts in Bayfront Park. Passengers can take the train to the Miami Metrorail at the Miami Airport station to reach the Metromover in downtown.

The special train will leave the Miami Airport station for the northern counties at 1:35 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, while it will depart at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday. Fares will be between $2.50 and $11.55 on Friday and a $5 flat fee on the weekend.

Last week, officials announced extended hours for the Metrorail service in an effort to encourage people to avoid driving to the festival.

Uber is also making it easier to use their service to get to and from the music festival, with a designated dropoff and pickup location at the corner of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 6th Street.
