The National Hurricane Center says a low pressure system it was monitoring in the Bay of Campeche has organized into the ninth tropical depression of the Atlantic Hurricane season.

At 11 p.m., the NHC said the system was located about 160 miles west-southwest of Campeche, Mexico and had sustained winds of 35 miles per hour. The system is moving to the east at six miles per hour.

The NHC said the system is expected to continue moving to the east for the next couple of days and should approach the Mexican coast late Wednesday or Wednesday night.
