Truck Bursts Into Flames After School Bus Collision: MFR

Both Miami Police and Miami-Dade School Police are investigating after a pickup truck collided with a school bus and burst into flames, Miami Fire Rescue said.

The accident occurred just before 9 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Miami Avenue and 60th Terrace in Miami-Dade.

MFR says the Ford Pickup truck was headed northbound on North Miami Avenue when it collided with a Miami Dade School bus headed westbound on 60th Terrace and burst into flames.

Witnesses were able to help pull the pickup truck driver from the burning vehicle.

Three Jose Diego Middle School students were on the school bus, along with the bus attendant. The driver was able to pull the bus off the street away from the burning truck.

The pickup truck driver, a 34-year-old male, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Crews examined the occupants of the school bus for minor injuries. They were then transferred to another school bus.
