Two Arrested in Home Invasion Shooting That Left Man Paralyzed: Miami-Dade Police

Police have arrested two suspects and are still looking for a third in a home invasion shooting that left a South Florida man paralyzed.

Isaac Glen Coles, 21, and Quinton Grate, 20, have been arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed kidnapping, armed burglary and armed robbery in the Aug. 18 shooting, Miami-Dade Police said Thursday.

Both men were being held without bond Thursday and it was unknown if they have attorneys.

According to police, 20-year-old Bryan Perez was sitting on his patio at 20761 Northeast 4th Court with a friend when three men robbed them at gunpoint and tried to force them into the home.

But as Perez went inside, he closed the sliding glass door behind him, and his attackers fired several shots into the home, striking him, police said.

Perez suffered several gunshots and underwent surgery. Doctors determined his spine was severed and he would be paralyzed from the waist down. His friend wasn't injured.

Coles and Grate were arrested and were identified by Perez and his friend in a six-person photo lineup, police said.

Police are looking for the third suspect, who is believed to be a 15-year-old black male. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
