Two Dead After Car Falls From Ramp, Onto I-95 in NW Miami-Dade at Golden Glades Interchange

The driver of the car was later identified as 21-year-old Troy Jozef Andrews

A man and woman died after their vehicle drove off an overpass ramp and onto southbound Interstate 95 in northwest Miami-Dade early Friday.

The black Mercedes fell at about 2:25 a.m. Friday and went up in flames instantly, according to a witness. Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicle was headed northbound on the ramp toward Golden Glades Park and Ride before plunging off the overpass.

FHP said crews were working on a damaged overhead sign and I-95 would remain closed for hours.

Truck driver Orlando Cabrera told NBC 6 he had pulled over to rest and heard the crash. He said he tried to help save the two people in the car.

Cabrera said the woman was initially alive after the fall, but she later died.

"It was like a bomb," Cabrera said of the crash.

The driver of the car was later identified as 21-year-old Troy Jozef Andrews. The female passenger was identified as 21-year-old Brooke Taylor Easter.

Video posted to Instagram by Easter showed Andrews driving on I-95 near Downtown Miami shortly before the crash. The video zoomed into the car's speedometer, which indicated it was traveling 132 miles per hour.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
