    Two people were injured after a small plane crashed in Okeechoobee County Sunday, reported.

    Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Michelle Bell said the pair was attempting to land the small-engine Lancair aircraft at the airport when it crashed off Highway 98.

    Before noon, one passenger was airlifted to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute and the other was transported to Raulerson Hospital, according to TCPalm. Their conditions are unknown.

    Authorities said a tractor trailer nearby caught fire after the plane crash.
