Teen Suspect Wounded in Police-Involved Shooting

Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting that ended with a teen suspect hospitalized and a stolen Mercedes SUV in the side of a duplex in Sunrise Thursday. Lauderhill Police spokesman Capt. Rick Rocco spoke about the incident.

Two men were shot in an attempted carjacking around 5 a.m. Saturday morning at the intersection at SW 139th Avenue and 264th Street in Naranja, police said.

Both men were in a black PT Cruiser when they were shot. One was shot three times, the other was hit twice, according to officials. They were airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center and are expected to survive, authorities said.

It's unknown if the shooter or shooters fled on foot or in a vehicle. Officers could not say if the gunmen made off with any valuables.

No description of the shooter has been released.
