A construction project estimated to take almost two years is scheduled to begin Monday in Hialeah, the Florida Department of Transportation announced.

The FDOT said it will begin the $14 million roadway construction on State Road 823, also known as Northwest 57th Avenue, from West 46 Street until West 54th Street.

The main objectives include widening the road and adding a lane, installing drainage structures and constructing a central median.

Motorists should anticipate daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. and allow extra time to reach their destinations, according to the department.

The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2014.
