University of Miami Walk-On QB Arrested, Charged with DUI and Cocaine Possession

University of Miami walk-on quarterback Tucker Beirne was arrested on DUI and cocaine possession charges early Saturday morning in Tavernier.

According to Monroe County Sheriff officials, 19-year-old Beirne was arrested during a traffic stop on US-1 mile marker 93 in Tavernier. He has been charged with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence and one felony count of cocaine possession.

Beirne started all four-years in high school, including his last three seasons at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami.

Bierne was not expected to play in the Hurricanes' season opener against Florida A&M at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens Saturday.
