Urban Flood Advisory in Eastern Miami-Dade

An urban flood advisory was issued for parts of eastern and northeastern Miami-Dade Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service in Miami said the advisory was in effect until 12:30 p.m. due to heavy rain.

Up to two inches of rain had fallen and another two inches of rain were possible in areas including Miami and Coral Gables.

Aventura, North Miami Beach, Miami Shores and Little Haiti were also at risk for minor flooding.

The advisories were issued as nasty weather brought thunder and lightning to South Florida Tuesday morning.

In Coral Gables, a groundskeeper was struck by lightning at the Riviera Country Club, officials said.

Fire Rescue workers responded to the club around 7:45 a.m. and found the 56-year-old man unconscious and in cardiac arrest.

Paramedics were able to restore the man's pulse and he was taken to Kendall Regional Hospital where he was regaining consciousness, officials said..
