Vehicle Crashes Into West Little River School, One Injured

Around 6 a.m. Saturday, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a car that had crashed into the exterior wall of a school building. 

When the first unit arrived at Dr. Henry Mack West Little River K-8 Center, at the intersection of NW 84 Street and 24 Avenue, they found a person trapped in the crushed car. 

A technical rescue team had to help extricate the person, who was "heavily entrapped," accoriding to Miami Fire Rescue. In the meantime, paramedic crews medically tended to the person. 

Once removed, the person was transported by air rescue to the trauma center in order to receive further medical care, according to Miami Fire Rescue. 

No further information was immediately known. Video footage and photos provided by Miami Fire Rescue reveal the large hole in the wall left by the crash.
