Miami-Dade Police looking for burglar who made smashing entrance

Miami-Dade Police are looking for a burglar who was caught on video breaking into a business last month.

The incident happened Oct. 12 at the business at 9969 Southwest 142nd Avenue, Miami-Dade Police said Wednesday.

Police say the suspect smashed the glass front door to get inside then removed the cash register, cell phones and electronics worth more than $6,000.

"Everything. My iPod, my own iPod, iPhone, cell phones, BlackBerries. Everything that I have here," said Jose Ibarra, the owner of Smart Technology. "Just one guy come in and take the money for two, three months. I have to work very hard to make that."

Investigators are asking for the community's help in identifying the suspect and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
