Wade Meeting With Heat in New York: Report

Dwyane Wade will reportedly be sitting down with multiple teams including the Heat on Wednesday

The Miami Heat and several other teams will meet with Dwyane Wade on Wednesday, according to a report by Yahoo.

The meetings are taking place in New York and a decision could come quickly from Wade. The All-Star is drawing interest from the Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks. All three teams along with the Heat will be given a chance to make a possible final pitch.

It has been reported that team owner Micky Arison will be leading the meeting with Wade. It is possible that nobody besides Arison and Wade will attend the meeting which would be reminiscent of how last year's contract talks ended up. Arison met with Wade privately last off-season to figure out a one-year deal valued at $20 million.

Previous contract offers from the Heat to Wade have been reported at a value of roughly $40 million over years. The All-Star is seeking more guaranteed money and possibly a guaranteed third year as well. Miami does not currently have room for that kind of salary, but could make moves to complete a pact.

Should Miami swing and miss on Wade, it will be difficult for the team to replace him. The Heat have seen many alternative options sign elsewhere as they were in pursuit of Kevin Durant. Miami may be forced to match an offer sheet forthcoming for Tyler Johnson or turn to second-year player Josh Richardson for extra minutes.
