Walton's Big Game Lifts Hurricanes Over Owls

Mark Walton rushed for four touchdowns in Miami's 38-10 win over FAU on Saturday

The Miami Hurricanes beat the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday by a final score of 38-10.

Miami did not receive the best of starts from quarterback Brad Kaaya, but was able to do enough to win. Mark Walton scored four of Miami's touchdowns on the ground. The Hurricanes entered the game ranked 25th in the nation after a lopsided win against Florida A&M last week. Miami is now 2-0 this season with both wins coming at home.

In the first half, Kaaya was only 9-20 on his pass attempts and threw two interceptions. Despite that lack of production, Miami took a 14-3 lead into the locker room at the half. That was thanks in part to good defense and its running game. The Hurricanes saw Walton run two touchdowns into the end zone in the second quarter alone.

Walton would add two more touchdowns during the second half to complete his big game. Overall, the sophomore rushed for 155 yards on 17 tries. With a TD last week, Walton now has five touchdowns in just two games this season. Joseph Yearby would add another touchdown on the ground in the fourth quarter.

Kaaya finished the game 17-31 for 191 yards with the aforementioned two interceptions.

Miami's season will continue next Saturday when it travels to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
