Weapons Recovered But Suspects Sought After Shotguns, Rifles Stolen From Bass Pro Shops in Dania Bach: BSO

More than a dozen shotguns and high-powered rifles that were stolen from the Bass Pro Shops in Dania Beach have been recovered but authorities are still searching for the thieves who took them.

The 16 weapons were stolen in the early morning hours Friday from the store at 200 Gulf Stream Way, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Monday.

Four suspects broke in and stole the weapons, valued at about $400 a piece. Surveillance video released by the BSO showed the suspects entering through a door and jumping over counters then ransacking the weapons department.

More than a dozen shotguns and high-powered rifles that were stolen from the Bass Pro Shops in Dania Beach have been recovered but authorities are still searching for the thieves who took them.

Most of the weapons were later recovered in Hallandale Beach but the suspects remain at large. Deputies believe two guns may still be unaccounted for.

"These are high-powered shotguns that are used to hunt and hunting rifles, they can cause a lot of damage, go through walls and windows, it was imperative we got working on this ASAP and got these guns off the street," BSO Sgt. Ben Anderson said.

Bass Pro Shops released a statement Monday saying they're assisting law enforcement in the investigation and are constantly evaluating security procedures.
