Miami

Week 11 Preview: Cowboys at Dolphins

The 4-5 Dolphins will host the 2-7 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium

The Miami Dolphins will look to even their record up against Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Miami enters the game against Dallas with a 4-5 record and a chance at a Wild Card spot. Despite sitting in last place in their division, the Dolphins are far from eliminated in terms of playoff contention. Entering this week's action, Miami sits in tenth place overall in the AFC.

One of the problems for Miami this year has been a poor record at home. One of Miami's home losses came in London, and the team has a 1-2 home record overall. This leaves a good portion of Miami's remaining games at Sun Life Stadium. Five of the last seven games that the Dolphins play will be on their home field.

The Cowboys are a dismal 2-7 this year which is due in part to playing without Romo for most of the season. Dallas' quarterback is making his triumphant return just in time to face Miami. Due to this, the Dolphins will be seeing a much different Cowboys club than their record would otherwise imply.

Dallas has dropped seven games in a row and a lot of that is due to an ineffective offense. As can be expected from a team without it starting QB, the Cowboys have struggled to find a rhythm and have an inability to score late in games. With Romo in charge once again, the Dolphins will need their defense to step up and stop a determined team.

It won't be an easy task for that defense as Jelani Jenkins and Koa Misi both could miss the game. The pair has been held out of practice this week due to injuries suffered in the team's previous game. Jenkins has an ankle injury while Misi is battling a problem with his abdomen.

In last week's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Ryan Tannehill did a great job while leading Miami's offense. The QB threw for 217 yards and completed two touchdown passes. It also marked the second week in a row that Tannehill escaped without an interception. After a stretch of nine picks in four games, Miami hopes that Tannehill can have another pick-free day in this one.

Sunday's game between the Cowboys and Dolphins will get underway at 1 p.m.
