Week Seven Preview: Bills at Dolphins

The Dolphins will try and win a second straight game on Sunday when they host the Bills

The Miami Dolphins will be looking for a second straight win on Sunday when they host the Buffalo Bills.

Miami is coming off a thrilling victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last week at Hard Rock Stadium. The Dolphins entered last week's contest as a big underdog and were given little hope of a victory. Miami may have opened eyes with the surprising win, but this game is equally as important for the Dolphins.

With a 2-4 record, Miami trails Buffalo by two games in the standings already. A loss in this one could make Miami's playoff hopes even dimmer. A win on the other hand could continue a turnaround season for the Dolphins. Following this game, Miami has a bye week and a chance to recharge its batteries for a potential second half run.

A key to last week's win was the play of Jay Ajayi at the running back spot. Miami's RB had easily his biggest game of the season, which included a long dash towards the end of the game. It was a welcome surprise for Miami and gave renewed hope to the team's offense. Ajayi could be primed for another big day in this one, as Buffalo is not known for its rushing defense.

With Ajayi running wild, Ryan Tannehill was able to have less pressure on him. The quarterback showed that with a solid game. While Tannehill never found the end zone last week, he also did not throw an interception. Giving the ball away has been an issue for Tannehill all season long, and he'll need to avoid that dreaded statistic again in this game.

On paper, there is a clear sign of trouble for Miami against Buffalo. The Bills have the best rushing offense in the NFL, and the Dolphins are ranked 31st in rushing defense. This combination could result in problems for Miami and a long day for its defense. Time of possession has already been an issue for the Dolphins this season, and that could show once more against Buffalo.

This game will also feature an appearance by Richie Incognito in Miami. The guard who now plays for Buffalo was part of a well publicized bullying scandal during Miami's 2013 season.

Sunday's game will start at 1:00 p.m.
