Police Bodycam Footage of Miami-Dade Wendy's Altercation Released

The Miami-Dade Police Department has released body camera footage of an altercation at a Wendy's fast food restaurant in which a man was able to withstand numerous stun gun shots.

The man seen on video in the incident that occurred on June 6 at the restaurant in Cutler Bay was identified by police as 35-year-old Joaquin Labaut.

Video shows Labaut inside the restaurant near SW 117th Avenue and Dixie Highway arguing with employees before running into the kitchen area, where he was followed by two female officers.

Footage shows the officers trying to get Labaut to surrender, telling him multiple times to get on the ground – all while employees seem terrified.

A male officer can be seen striking him with a baton in an effort to subdue Labaut, who eventually made his way back to the dining area despite continuous shots with a stun gun.

Labaut was eventually taken into custody and booked on 12 counts, including multiple counts of battery on an officer.
