What's Open, Closed on Memorial Day in South Florida

Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed on the federal holiday.

All Miami-Dade and Broward County offices, courts and public schools are closed. Miami-Dade libraries are closed Sunday and Monday, while Broward libraries are only closed Monday.

All federal and state offices are closed. Stock markets, the US Postal Service, UPS and FedEx also won’t be running.

Broward County Transit will operate on a Sunday service schedule on Memorial Day. There will be no Express Bus Service, according to the county website.

Miami-Dade Transit will also operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day.

The Broward Municipal Services District will have a regular schedule with garbage and recycling collection. If you live in a municipality outside of the district, check with your municipality for a schedule.

Waste and recycling in the City of Miami will maintain a normal schedule.

Most malls will be open and various supermarkets may have holiday hours. Check with your individual grocery store for specific hours.

Most banks will be closed. Check with your bank for specific information.
