From the Department of Redundancy Department comes the story of Dalia Dippolito, the 26-year old woman who hired undercover cops to kill her wealthy husband.
Well it turns out Dippolito had tried, and failed, on two other occasions to rub out Michael Dippolito just months after they were married.
We guess Dippolito certainly learned the lesson, if at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again.
Dalia Dippolito was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder in August after putting on an Oscar-worthy performance upon hearing the news her husband was dead. Police later revealed the fake death was just a stunt and that they knew she was trying to kill her hubby.
But Dippolito hoped hiring a hitman was her "third time's a charm," according to Palm Beach investigators.
A month earlier, she had tried to poison her husband's Starbucks tea with anti-freeze and when that failed, she tried to persuade two strangers to knock off her better half.
Neither attempt succeeded of course, but Dippolito gets an "A" for effort - or more appropriately, a jail cell.
Maybe Michael Dippolito has nine lives like a cat because he has escaped every attempt fairly unscathed, excluding the tummy ache from the anti-freeze. He has wisely has filed for divorce from his coo-coo wife since the last murder plot.
As for Dalia, she is still on house arrest at her mother's home. Hopefully, she has found a new hobby.
